Dear Visitor,

Welcome to the web site for Great Southern Grammar.

I am delighted to have been appointed as the third Headmaster of Great Southern Grammar.

My work in education spans over 23 years with much of the past decade spent in establishing an outstanding P-12 coeducational, independent school in Queensland.

As a family, we are excited about moving to Albany, and my wife Wendy, and children, Reuben, Phoebe and Tate, look forward to being involved in school and community life.

A school should be a place of inspiration and on visiting Great Southern Grammar, I was immediately impressed by the tone, ethos and culture of the School. The campus occupies one hundred acres of waterfront land on Oyster Harbour and provides an outstanding learning environment.

Great Southern Grammar is developing an excellent reputation for the quality of its facilities, programs and staff. There is a culture of achievement in the School and there is evidence of excellence in a range of academic, cultural and sporting pursuits. I am impressed with the depth and breadth of learning across the curriculum.

The Christian Foundation of the School ensures that attention is given to the spiritual and personal development of each student and it is hoped that graduates of the School will demonstrate values of compassion and tolerance and contribute to their community and society in the future.

As a school, we seek to provide opportunities for students to grow in knowledge and wisdom and to ensure that each student develops a love of learning that they will carry with them beyond their school days.

For those students living outside of the Albany community, an outstanding boarding program is available and students are supported by a committed and caring staff.

In summary, our commitment is:

•  To provide our students with a broad and balanced education by experiencing as many learning areas as possible

•  To encourage and enable students to recognise and value their gifts and talents and to develop these in appropriate ways

•  To encourage students to explore issues of faith and spirituality through their exposure to Christian teachings within the context of a modern society.

I can think of no better school than Great Southern Grammar, the School of the Sea and I look forward to working with you and your children.

Kind Regards
