Our
Learning and Information Centre was opened in 2003.
Designed
to take advantage of the magnificent rural outlook
and natural light, with the flexibility to respond to
multiple
needs of students from K-12 the Centre's open plan embraces
a diversity of class and individual activities.
The
Information and Technology section houses computers for
both class and individual use. Students can
access personal
files via the server as well as conduct research using
the Internet.
The
Teacher/Librarian works with Junior School class teachers
to help our young students become proficient in the
use of Word and PowerPoint programmes as well as the
many other applications available for project work.
Middle
and Senior School students are able to access the computers
with their
classes or as individuals. Information
Technology is taught at Middle and Senior School levels.
Our
growing book collection provides for both research and
recreational reading for students at all age and ability
levels.
Within
the Centre there is a Seminar Room suitable for small group
work, a larger area with TV/Video facilities, an interactive
whiteboard and a comfortable private reading area for students
to relax in.
Academic
Support staffed by teachers from both sciences and humanities
is offered in the Learning and Information Centre three afternoons
a week, as well as Prep time for residential students nightly.
