Pastoral
care permeates every stage and level within our School
community.
It
is implicit in all teaching and learning environments,
and extends beyond the campus to the broader community.
At Grammar we mentor our students throughout their
schooling.
We
listen to their woes, navigate in their choices, encourage
them in their challenges, support them in their trials,
and celebrate their achievements. We offer friendship,
confidentiality and wise counsel.
Every
member of the Grammar staff is involved in the pastoral
care of students and of each other. We have a Chaplain
who is available for both Christian Education and spiritual
guidance.
Each
of the four Houses has assigned staff members who serve
to encourage and develop team work, team spirit, goal
seeking and goal sharing.
Each
Middle School Year level has a Co-ordinator who tracks
academic progress, offers guidance in subject and life
choices, and keenly monitors fluctuations - particularly
in the Middle And Senior School Years. Members of staff
are actively available to respond to students with advice
and guidance on request.
As
a staff body we participate regularly in Junior, Middle
and Senior School, whole School staff, and Curricula meetings,
where we share relevant information relating to student
progress and well-being. We actively liaise with parents
at all levels on all fronts.
Pastoral
care at GSG is all embracing philosophy which dominates
our relationship with parents and their children. |
