The entry point to enrol in Senior School is Year 11.
At
this stage of their development adolescents enter the
transition to adulthood which has its own characteristic
codes and expectations. Again, within the context of
our personally responsive pastoral care GSG recognises
the significance of students' social development through
the formation of lifelong friendships, and their more
heightened awareness of adult decisions, rights and
responsibilities.
Accordingly
we engage closely with students and parents as they select
from the range of vocational, academic and TEE
pathways which prepare them for career entry, social responsibility,
and sound citizenship.
Senior
School curriculum provides opportunities for our students
to develop skills and attitudes that will
equip them to pursue
university or other tertiary courses.
Low
student teacher ratios enable our students to maximise
their opportunities
to achieve their best possible results
for entry into tertiary studies and careers.
We
offer a range of subjects which cater for entry into
higher education and
training institutions and opportunities. Courses
of study are designed to fulfil individual student needs,
develop their strengths, and foster their interests. The
academic advantages afforded by the School are evidenced
by the proven success of our TEE students.
In
addition to scholastic achievement, we endeavour to develop
our students'
interpersonal and self management skills as
being central to learning and citizenship.
