Come and join us!

Choosing a school for your child is a big decision. That’s why we’ve streamlined our application process to make it as simple as possible.

We want you to know where you stand every step of the way, and our Community Relations Manager, Mrs Julia Bairstow, is just a phone call or email away.

Step 1: Visit us

Located on the shore of Oyster Harbour, Great Southern Grammar is a short, picturesque drive from Albany town centre. There’s so much to see on campus and Mrs Bairstow makes the perfect tour guide.

Step 2: Apply online

Applications are always open — all you have to do is fill out our Application for Admission form. You’ll need a copy of your child’s birth certificate or Australian passport and our application fee is $50.

If you’re hoping to enrol more than one child, please fill in a separate application form for each prospective student. Once you’ve submitted, your child/ren will be placed on the waitlist for the appropriate subschool.

Step 3: Book your enrolment interview

We’ll be in touch to book an enrolment interview. Depending on your child’s age, there are different time frames for bookings:

  • Pre-Kindy: six months ahead of your child’s enrolment year
  • Day students (Kindy to Year Twelve): 12 months ahead of your child’s enrolment year
  • Boarding (Years Seven to Twelve): 18 months ahead of your child’s enrolment year

Step 4: Interview

Once you’ve confirmed your interest and submitted the required documentation, we will contact you. From there, you’ll book an interview with one of our Executive staff (usually the Head of Subschool that your child will enrol in).

Interviews usually take place during school hours, which gives prospective students and their parents/guardians a chance to see what life at GSG is all about.

Step 5: Offer and acceptance

Once the interview is completed and your child is offered admission, you’ll be asked to pay a non-refundable, non-transferrable Endowment Fee of $2000. This confirms your acceptance and secures your child’s place in their class.

Step 6: MyGSG

Ninety days before your child starts school at GSG, we’ll send login details to our online portal. You’ll become very familiar with MyGSG in the coming years, but for now, use it to access parent information, update your child’s medical information, and update your contact details.

Step 7: Orientation and welcome

Orientation Day happens during November. With plenty of notice, you’ll be invited to arrange a uniform fitting for your child and participate in orientation activities.

Orientation Day includes activities for both you and your child — it’s a great chance to familiarise yourselves with the campus and get excited about the year to come!
