Student Leadership
Every Student is a Leader
Leadership begins early, with clear expectations and strong mentoring from peers and staff.
From Primary School, students take on roles in their classrooms and Houses. Every Year Six student is part of a structured leadership team, setting goals and working together with support from our pastoral care team.
In Secondary School, leadership is everywhere, from homeroom groups to the Student Representative Council (SRC), which gives voice to student ideas and drives action. Older students mentor younger peers through programs like Stretch and Challenge, music support and community events such as Milo and Muffins after Walk to School Day.
Our Year Twelve leaders guide the whole school community through portfolios in House, Arts, Sports, Boarding, Community, Service and as School Captains, ensuring broad representation and impact.
Leadership at GSG is not just a title, it is a daily practice of responsibility, service and collaboration.
Great Southern Grammar acknowledges that the land upon which we learn, play and grow is Menang land, whose traditional custodians are the Noongar people. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging and acknowledge that their sovereignty was never ceded.
