At Great Southern Grammar, boarding is the heart of our school community. We know sending your child to boarding school is a huge undertaking and we are here to help make the transition as smooth as possible for the whole family.
Unique Junior Co-educational Boarding
Through shared events, outings and adventures, boarders form strong friendships while experiencing the natural beauty of the region.
Junior boarding at Great Southern Grammar provides a nurturing, safe and supportive co‑educational environment for Year Seven and Eight students. Junior boarders are cared for by dedicated staff, led by our Directors of Boarding, who live on site with their families to ensure consistent care, guidance, and continuity.
Our junior boarding program focuses on a gentle transition into boarding life, supporting students to develop routines, confidence and independence. Working closely with families, each student is supported through an Individual Transition Plan, allowing them to grow at their own pace within a connected and caring boarding community.
From Year Nine, students transition into single‑sex houses, providing a focused and supportive environment during this important stage of adolescence, increasing academic rigour and independence.
