DRAMA

In Drama students gain the skills to perform in front of others in a range of genres from murder mysteries to Commedia dell’arte and individual monologues.

Movement, improvisation, role playing and characterisation are all explored as well as script writing, set design, costume, lighting and sound. We seek to provide opportunities to perform both at school and at local theatre venues and opportunities to view professional theatre productions.

Drama promotes engagement, creativity and promotes social and emotional development. Coming in 2026 is Theatre Club and Circus Club as extra-curricular offerings.

In Year Eleven and Twelve, we offer both ATAR and General Drama classes where students are introduced to more complex Drama texts and theorists such as Stanislavsky and Brecht.

Great Southern Grammar acknowledges that the land upon which we learn, play and grow is Menang land, whose traditional custodians are the Noongar people. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging and acknowledge that their sovereignty was never ceded.
