MEDIA
Media at Great Southern Grammar empowers students to become creative producers and critical consumers in today’s fast-changing digital world. Students learn to tell stories through film, video, and online platforms while developing the skills to analyse how media shapes the way we see ourselves and others.
Our Media Club offers students from Years Seven to Twelve the chance to extend their creativity beyond the classroom. Together, they experiment with scriptwriting, cinematography, editing and animation, producing original films and exploring the art of digital storytelling in a fun, collaborative environment.
We are proud to have a strong connection with CinefestOZ Albany and its Cinesnaps programme, where students regularly participate in workshops, screenings and competitions. Our students have been recognised as finalists and winners in the short film festival, even walking the red carpet to celebrate their achievements.
Through these experiences, students not only gain practical skills in filmmaking and media production but also learn how to navigate and critically engage with social media, an essential skillset for responsible communication and digital citizenship in the 21st century.
Great Southern Grammar acknowledges that the land upon which we learn, play and grow is Menang land, whose traditional custodians are the Noongar people. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging and acknowledge that their sovereignty was never ceded.
