Looking after our boarders

Our boarding students have special access to a School Nurse before and after school. When necessary, they’ll assess your child’s health and care needs.

If your child is too unwell to attend school, you’ll be notified, and your child will be cared for by the Nurse.

Should they need further attention, the School Nurse can refer your child to another health professional so that they get the care they need.

Healthcare at school

We employ two School Nurses at GSG. They provide day to day healthcare, coordinate the school's health screening programme, and assist with the identification of high-risk students.

Our Nurses also:

  • manage the school's vaccination programme
  • provide first aid to students and staff
  • attend school sport carnivals to ensure that injuries are treated correctly and promptly
  • ensure appropriate referral to other health professionals as needed
  • most importantly, they work with you to provide the best possible care for your child
