Foundation Leadership Prize

The Great Southern Grammar Foundation is offering the Foundation Leadership Prize, a full tuition three-year scholarship to a new student commencing in Year Ten.  

The scholarship will be awarded on merit to a student who is of good character and can demonstrate leadership potential, has a strong academic record and is actively involved in their community. 

Eligibility 

The Foundation Leadership Prize is a means-tested scholarship offered to a student entering Year Ten in 2027 who is not currently enrolled at Great Southern Grammar.  

Criteria  

The Foundation Leadership Prize will be awarded to a student who can demonstrate:  

  • Evidence of academic achievement 
  • A strong commitment to community service  
  • A genuine willingness to put others first and make a positive contribution to their community  
  • A desire to create a positive, long-lasting impact for the common good  
  • A commitment for personal growth and future achievement  
  • An interest in and potential for entrepreneurship   

Application Process  

Applications open Friday 11 September and will close on Friday 9 October 2026. 

Students will need to complete the application form, including a statement that addresses the criteria above in their own words. The statement should be no longer than two (2)pages. Please note that AI-generated statements will not be accepted.  

The following documentation must be provided:  

  • All Secondary School semester reports 
  • Copy of Australian citizenship or Permanent Resident document (if applicable)  
  • Parents/guardians' financial statement  
  • Three (3) written references from adults known to the child.  

Shortlisted applicants and their parent/guardian will be invited to separate interviews with the Foundation Board. Following interviews, the Board’s recommendation will be shared with the Principal for final ratification. 

Conditions of the Foundation Leadership Prize  

The Foundation Leadership Prize will provide the following for the successful recipient:  

  • Full tuition fees will be funded for three (3) years 
  • The Endowment Fee of $2000 will be waived 

Parents/guardians are required to meet the costs of school uniform and all other ancillary expenses. 

The successful recipient is expected to maintain strong academic achievement, with results reviewed annually – in line with the school’s scholarship requirements.  

They will also need to actively represent the Foundation and School throughout the duration of the scholarship and may include: 

  • Attendance at GSG Foundation Board meetings (up to four times per year) 
  • Speaking at public events, including Foundation Day to share the value and impact of the Prize 
  • Attendance at community events such as agricultural shows and field days (on request).
